CONSERVATION AREAS WINDOWS & DOORS
As experts in timber windows and doors for listed and conservation properties, we specialise in exact-match replacement, part replacement and repair of sash windows, casement windows and a wide range of doors for architecturally sensitive properties.
Over 30 planning authorities across London and the Home Counties have approved our timber windows and doors for listed and conservation properties, including Lambeth, Wandsworth and Kensington and Chelsea.
Many of these projects have included the installation of our elegant slimline double glazing, that looks just like single glazing, to maximise the thermal and acoustic performance of the windows and doors without compromising the unique character and heritage of the building.
We can also reglaze or replace windows with our thermally efficient single glazing, ‘Solo‘, which is 38% more effective at thermal insulation than single glazing.
Please thank all involved for the exceptional service. Really pleased with the windows and very impressed with the whole installation process. Great product, great company.
HELPING YOU THROUGH THE PROCESS
If you live in a conservation area that has an Article 4(2) Direction, you will need to get planning permission from the local authority if you wish to change your windows or doors*.
As experts in the heritage field, we are happy to advise you on the planning application process and supply materials, designs and drawings.
We can supply detailed CAD drawings and provide advice on materials, finishes and glazing options which are often required for planning applications before permissions are granted.
We are also happy to supply samples of glass and ironmongery which may be required by planners. Just get in touch to speak to one of our experts.
We offer the complete solution from repair and draught proofing to complete replacement, and we can also fit single or double glazed sashes to existing frames, if the frames are in good enough condition to be saved.
*Please contact your local planning officer before carrying out any works on listed or conservation properties. Each property is judged on a case by case basis depending on the condition and type of the windows/doors, and the nature of the proposed works.
