All our ranges of bespoke timber windows and doors are now available with an upgrade to vacuum glazing, using ultra high performance PassivGlas™ units – our slimmest, most thermally efficient double glazing yet.
Vacuum glazing is the perfect solution for excellent thermal efficiency, acoustic insulation and elegant design, combining a thickness of just 8.15mm with thermal and sound insulation that outperforms triple glazing. It is a versatile solution for authentic heritage windows, period homes, and highly efficient new build ‘Passive House’ properties.
By using a vacuum between the two panes of glass – the gap between them is less than a millimetre – there is no need for bulky double glazing to achieve ‘Passive House’ insulation and performance standards. The vacuum virtually eliminates heat conduction and convection – which means very little heat can pass through the windows. This level of thermal efficiency helps retain stable indoor temperatures, reducing the need for heating and leading to substantial energy savings.
