We offer a comprehensive range of glass design options for timber windows, from stained glass to patterned and opaque glass, as well as our high performance single and double glazing options.
Our Glass Design Options
At Timbawood, we provide a comprehensive range of high-performance glass window designs tailored for heritage, period and contemporary homes. Every glazing option is made to enhance energy efficiency, improve comfort, and enhance the character of your property.
Patterned & Opaque Glass
Patterned and opaque glass provides privacy while allowing natural light through, ideal for bathrooms. We use Pilkington Texture glass which is available in a variety of textures and privacy levels. For Pilkington’s full range please click here.

Stained Glass
We work with stained glass artists who can carefully restore your existing stained glass, or create a new bespoke design to your specification. To enhance security and insulation, we can use laminated security glass behind the stained glass to protect it.
Restoration Glass
Restoration glass recreates the authentic character of historic glazing, and can be used as either single glazing or within slimline double glazed units. Ideal for maintaining the original look of heritage homes.

High Performance Glazing:
1. Slimline Double Glazing
Our high performance double glazing comes in a range of thicknesses and specifications, including slimline units starting from just 11mm thick, which offer a heritage-appropriate look for listed buildings and conservation properties. We use premium heritage glazing suppliers including Histoglass and our sister company Timbalite.
Timbalite individual slimline double glazed units have the appearance of single glazing, but have the benefits of double glazing including a ‘Low E’ inner pane, warm edge spacer bars in a choice of colours, and choice of gas fill for optimum thermal performance.
2. Vacuum Glazing
Our thinnest, most thermally efficient double glazing, vacuum glazing combines a thickness of from just 8.15mm with thermal and sound insulation that outperforms triple glazing. To find out more click here.
3. High Performance Single Glazing
Timbawood ‘Solo‘ is a laminated single glazing system designed for listed and conservation properties that offers 38% less heat loss compared to standard single glazing, and can incorporate restoration glass on the outer face. Solo can be used when double glazing is not possible, for example when re-glazing existing timber windows, or when slimline double glazing is not permitted by a planning authority. 4. Acoustic Glass
Acoustic glass is a type of laminated glass that reduces external noise for a quieter home, perfect for urban or high-traffic locations like London. It can be used as single glazing or within double glazed units.
5. Laminated Security Glass
Laminated security glass offers enhanced security with its impact-resistant construction. It stays safely bonded even if damaged. Like acoustic glass, it can be used as single glazing or within double glazed units.
Bespoke Glass Options
We create custom glass solutions to suit unique property requirements. Shapes, finishes and specifications can all be tailored.
