CHOOSING PREMIUM TIMBER WINDOWS FOR YOUR PROPERTY

When replacing or restoring traditional timber windows in period properties, or fitting feature windows for a contemporary feel, our handcrafted, bespoke and made to measure timber windows are designed to retain the unique character of your home, creating a quieter, warmer and more comfortable environment whilst maximising its value. Our range of windows are suitable for Edwardian, Georgian and Victorian homes.

What are timber windows?

Timber windows combine elegant and authentic designs with high quality materials, all designed with conservation in mind. There are different styles of timber windows. Timber sash windows typically use a traditional vertical sliding design, featuring two panels that move within the window frame. Timber casement windows, on the other hand, feature an opening design similar to a door, and are available in both side and top hung configurations.

Which timber is best for windows?

There are different types of timber that can be used to make windows. Our timber windows are made using the finest stable timbers, such as Accoya, Sapele and Oak. The windows are then finished with high performance microporous paint, which allows the timber to breathe and ensures our timber windows are long lasting.

How long do timber windows last?

Timber windows should last for at least 60 years, and often even longer if made using a wood like Accoya and properly maintained. This is in contrast to uPVC windows, which often need to be replaced every 20 to 30 years. Our timber windows made with Accoya are warranted for 10 years against distortion, decay or malfunction, but should have a lifespan far longer than that.

An excellent job, we are thoroughly pleased and impressed with the product and service that Timbawood have provided
