LISTED BUILDINGS
At Timbawood we specialise in repairing and replacing sash windows, casement windows and doors on listed buildings. Our sensitive approach ensures we can preserve the architectural integrity of these unique buildings.
In 31 unique planning authorities across London and the Home Counties, we have fulfilled the strict planning criteria for either single or double glazed windows and doors on listed buildings.
In 26 of the authorities including Islington, Greenwich and Richmond upon Thames, we have installed our elegant slimline double glazing, which looks just like single glazing, to maximise thermal and acoustic performance without compromising on design.
We can also reglaze or replace windows with our thermally efficient single glazing, ‘Solo‘, which is 38% more effective at thermal insulation than single glazing.
“At every opportunity, Timbawood are my first choice for refurbishing and installing sash windows, particularly on architecturally sensitive properties.”
HELPING YOU THROUGH THE PROCESS
If your property is Grade I, Grade II* or Grade II listed, you will need Listed Building Consent and planning permission to replace or double glaze your existing windows and doors, even if the new ones are the same design, material and finish as your current features*.
As experts in the heritage field, we can help you obtain Listed Building Consent by supplying detailed CAD drawings of our windows and doors, and provide advice on materials, finishes and glazing options which are often required for listed building maintenance applications before permissions are granted.
We are also happy to supply samples of glass and ironmongery which may be required by planners. Just get in touch to speak to one of our experts.
*Please contact your local planning officer before carrying out any works on listed or conservation properties. Each property is judged on a case by case basis depending on the condition and type of the windows/doors, and the nature of the proposed works.
