Double glazed Grade II listed building in Greenwich

Bespoke Double-glazed Listed Buildings

As specialists in double glazed windows and doors for listed, conservation and period properties, we have successfully installed our elegant slimline double glazing, which looks just like single glazing, on listed buildings in 26 unique planning authorities across London and the Home Counties (and many more conservation properties), and have used slimline double glazing on over 350 projects in total.

This means we have been able to maximise the thermal and acoustic performance of these unique windows and doors without altering the original period look of the buildings.

The range of services we offer for listed and conservation properties is unique to each project, catering for the architectural needs of period properties throughout the ages, and includes exact-match replacement and part replacement of sash windows, casement windows and a wide range of doors.

As well as slimline double glazing, we offer bespoke glazing options including restoration glass – which has the slightly uneven look of original period glass – and windows can be hand-puttied and hand painted to complete the period look.

Because replacement windows and doors on listed and conservation properties can be difficult to get planning permission for, our service includes helping our clients put together listed building planning applications by supplying full detailed CAD designs for council approval.

To have a look at an example of the process involved, see our case study of the first double glazed Grade II listed building in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, or see our guide on how to get planning permission to replace windows on listed buildings.

At Timbawood we have worked on conservation and listed buildings in over 30 unique planning authorities across London and the Home Counties*.
