Casement stays & fasteners: Spoon end design

At Timbawood we are pleased to announce we are now offering our timber casement windows with a choice of 6 hardware finishes, as well as additional security options.

This is to ensure our exact-match windows are available with the widest choice of casement window hardware possible – to give our customers maximum flexibility. Each of these hardware options are also available with multi-point locking features – to combine traditional design with the latest in modern security.

At Timbawood we pride ourselves on our attention to detail, and ensuring that our windows faithfully match the original period windows.

That is why we are delighted to be able to offer our clients such a broad range of casement window hardware options, to match the style of any period property, with every hardware element being coordinated to that chosen finish – right down to the locking pins on the casement stays. We are also happy to fit custom designs supplied by our customers.

Our ‘Bulb End’ and ‘Spoon End’ casement stays and fasteners are now available in the following finishes –

Polished brass

Polished chrome

Satin chrome

Antique bronze

Antique brass

Antique pewter

We also offer ‘Curly Monkeytail’ style stays and fasteners in black. Please see our window hardware page for the full range of options.

For five of the finishes, we are able to match our casement window hardware with our sash window hardware. So if your property features a combination of sash windows and casement windows, we can ensure an exact match of hardware throughout, to give an elegant, coordinated look throughout the property.

Additional security

As well as a wider range of finishes, we are also now able to offer our casement window hardware with additional security options. Espagnolette casement fastener

Our casement fasteners are now available as espagnolette fasteners as an alternative to the traditional ‘hook and plate’ fasteners (see above) – which offer a multipoint locking option for larger windows and negate the need for additional locks on your casement windows.

Although it looks like a traditional casement fastener, the espagnolette fastener has four locking points – above and below the handle, and at the top and bottom of the window – to give extra security across all the vulnerable points of the window. These fasteners also have a discreet keyed locking point to lock the handle in place – for additional security when on holiday, for example.

The espagnolette fastener is a great example of the combination of modern, sophisticated performance and traditional period design that we at Timbawood are known for.
